Absalon - Culture House
In 2015, the Lajboschitz family purchased Absalonskirken in central Vesterbro with the intention of creating a place for the people and transforming it into a modern cultural hub for the benefit of the local community. Thus, Folkehuset Absalon has over the years hosted thousands of events where citizens have contributed everything from pottery classes, baby yoga, and life drawing to disco parties and live music.
Located in a densely populated area and connected to a residential building, Absalonskirken's transformation aimed to avoid noise disturbances for neighbors. To address this, Stouenborg provided consultancy and a comprehensive solution for a sound system for all of the venue's spaces. It was essential for the system to be easy to operate and capable of handling the diverse range of events taking place throughout the week, from morning until evening.
The chosen solution was an ultra-flexible system, intuitively operated by users via touch panels installed throughout the venue. This allows for seamless transitions between different events in a short time. Additionally, the sound in all rooms is connected via a central control unit, enabling sound to be transmitted from one room to another, offering ample opportunities for multi-room events or utilizing the entire venue if desired.
In the main hall, formerly a church space, column speakers from Meyer Sound were installed. These speakers are known for their forward-firing design, providing precise sound control without intruding into adjacent apartments even at relatively high volume levels. Careful selection of speakers was made to avoid bass vibrations.
