If you're into sweaty 80s music or just a fan of the decade when bright colors and synthesizers entered, the nightclub AHA Livestage in Fredericia is worth a visit.

When AHA Livestage came on the drawing board in 2020, the ambition of the venue's founder and owner was to create a unique experience where atmosphere, interior, sound and light would merge and give guests a pure experience of stepping back in time and experiencing the very special 80s vibe with prominent DJs and live music on stage. In other words, uncompromising high quality was the focal point of the entire concept, where nothing could be spared. Not even on the sound side, where one of the country's most prominent sound designers, Tim Høyer, was hired as a technical consultant to design the sound.

Acoustician Eddie Bøgh Brixen has worked on the acoustic conditions, while Stouenborg has designed the sound system itself. The desire for as short a reverberation time as possible should be supported, as this provides a tight and transparent sound image.

All ceilings have been acoustically dampened, while the sound system consists of no less than 78 distributed Meyer Sound speakers to fill the 600 square meters. In return, the reverberation time is down to just 0.85 seconds. This means that the sound is razor-sharp even at high sound pressure levels.

The relatively large number of speakers ensures a consistent sound experience throughout the club, regardless of where you are. At the same time, the system is designed to allow for the regulation of sound in zones. For example, you can turn up the volume on the dance floor and turn it down at the bar so that conversations can be had without being drowned out by the music.

Stouenborg has also delivered the front-end system consisting of a Yamaha digital matrix and an Allen & Heath audio mixing console, which makes it easy to switch between live music and DJs.

Like this successful project, we have also been integrators on a project for Stengade, where they wanted a new sound system, and you can read more about it here.
