Mantziusgaarden
In Birkerød, there is a little gem of a cultural center. Mantziusgården shares its name with the local figure Johan Mantzius, who was a teacher and founder of Birkerød boarding school. Therefore, it is probably also very appropriate that Mantziusgården houses various leisure activities for children and young people, as well as FOF education and various associations. But it also contains so much more than that, from restaurant to weaving workshop and not least MantziusLive, which is packed with concerts, sound parties and stand-up.
In 2011, Stouenborg was responsible for designing and installing the system for MantziusLive, and as the first in Denmark, Mantziusgården received a JM-1P Point Source system from Meyer Sound. Miguel Lortie from Meyer Sound was responsible for the adjustment, which consists of testing all the parts of the system and ensuring that they play optimally together. The adjustment is an important part of the process, because here you can take into account the specific acoustic environment and optimize the system for it. The challenge at Mantziusgården was the very wide hall, where the sound has difficulty reaching all the way to the sides without loss of speech intelligibility. The solution was to supplement the system with front-fills, down-fills and delays, so that the sound hits both the front of the hall and the upper rows on the balcony.
The system has been in frequent use ever since its installation, and it has proven its value for the many versatile concerts in MantziusLives packed programme. At Mantziusgården it is always full of sound and full of life.
